- We will meet in the Ganus parking lot at 6 a.m. - please be on time and ready to go. Have someone check and make sure you wake up. If you have a car or truck, please be willing to drive. We are floating the Spring River near Hardy, Ar. The drive is about 2 1/2 hours. Everyone plan on pitching in a little bit of gas money for the guys that use their vehicles. The cost to Float in a canoe or raft is the same, $18 each. It would be great if as many of you as possible paid Coach Simmons ahead of time, like today or tomorrow.
- If you have plans for the evening and need to get back, I believe you could easily be back by 4:00. If you are like me and you would rather go slow and enjoy the day, you will probably get back closer to 7:30.
- Make sure you wear something solid on your feet. Sandals would be a terrible decision. Old tennis shoes are perfect.
- Bring lots of sunscreen, it is supposed to be a hot day. Perfect!!!
- Feel free to bring small coolers, with drinks and sandwiches. It is a lot of fun to eat on the river bank and watch the scenery. If you bring a cooler, I would advise that you bring some string or rope to secure it to your boat in the unlikely event that your boat capsized.
- The trout fishing on the river is excellent. If you have questions about the fishing and what to bring, call Coach Simmons. You must have a fishing license and a trout stamp to fish.
- Come with your game face on, I know it is going to be a memorable day. I guarantee that something will happen that you guys will be talking about 20 years from now.
