Bisons defeat MSSU

SEARCY – Harding University junior quarterback Josh Powell connected on an 11-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Tyler O’Quin with 18 seconds remaining to give the Bisons a 17-15 victory over Missouri Southern in the 2009 season opener Saturday night at First Security Stadium. More . . .

  1. It was good to witness a home opening win for the Bisons. More important it was good to see a near complete defensive effort. A vast improvement at D was very evident to the faithful Harding fans in attendance.

To make a comeback late in the game, has to give the offense confidence entering the second game of the season.

Question comes to mind, what was the logic of calling time out and then going on 4th down with less than 50 seconds left in the half. Not getting the first down, clock stopped, a 15 yard personal foul and the visiting team kicking a which could have been a winning margin field goal. The kick had the distance but was wide. I'd be interested in who made that decision. That was the HUGE question raised in the stands during half-time. Good Game Bisons! The Dedeacon

  2. I am sure that the coach made that decision and it would have been brilliant and he would have been a ice-blooded genius if the players had executed and we had made a first down, then gone into half time with another score. Hey, let's get fully behind the coaches and honor their hard work and dedication to our guys!!
